Six Senses Bangkok is set to launch as part of Hatai, a visionary mixed-use development on the site of the iconic Narai Hotel in the heart of Silom. After more than 50 years of operation, Narai Hotel had closed its doors since February 2022 to make way for this new development. Joining Six Senses Samui and Six Senses Yao Noi in Thailand, the Bangkok property is the brand’s first foray into the Thai urban landscape.
Located on Silom Road, the area is set to house two luxury hotels alongside commercial office space, leisure facilities, retail and F&B outlets. The award-winning Heatherwick Studio (who designed Azabudai Hills in Tokyo which houses Janu Tokyo) helms the design of the property, and sought inspiration from the delicate craftsmanship of traditional lanterns to create Bangkok’s new ‘lantern quarters’. Nearby BTS stations include Chong Nonsi and Sala Daeng.

Six Senses Bangkok is expected to offer an estimated 100 spacious rooms and suites to guests, providing a tranquil retreat from the bustling city’s energy, along with a balance of wellness spaces in line with the brand’s DNA. Narai Hotel’s original wooden foundation was extracted and will be repurposed and woven into the interior design, echoing the brand’s philosophy of using local, sustainable, and natural materials.
The hotel will feature a 700-square-metre suite and signature restaurant, designed by Joyce Wang Studios (who also designed Carna by Dario Cecchini at Mondrian Hong Kong) and a rooftop pool. Interior design by BAR Studio (who designed Rosewood Phuket as well as restaurants in Regent Hong Kong and Rosewood Hong Kong) complements the architectural vision throughout the property and extends to the main restaurant, which connects to a sky lobby via a sky garden incorporating elements of biophilic design. As with all Six Senses properties, Six Sense Bangkok guests can expect integrated wellness offerings, sleep programs, nourishing cuisine, and an authentic connection to the local community.
Six Senses Bangkok is scheduled to open shortly after the 60th anniversary of the original Narai Hotel in 2028.
