Following Six Senses’s exit from Singapore, it has been announced that the two hotels formerly known as Six Senses Duxton and Six Senses Maxwell will reopen in 2021 under Marriott’s Autograph Collection and be renamed as The Duxton Reserve Hotel, Autograph Collection and The Maxwell Reserve Hotel, Autograph Collection respectively.
The Autograph Collection is Marriott International’s collection of independent upper-upscale to luxury hotels, with notable properties in Asia including The Majestic Hotel and Hotel Stripes in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia as well as The Prince Sakura Tower in Tokyo, Japan.
It was also announced that save for the addition of a new flagship Indian restaurant and bar SHIKAR to the Maxwell property, both hotels will retain their look and feel as well as their existing F&B concepts, the latter of which are expected to launch before the end of the year ahead of the properties’ official openings scheduled for 2021.
This is certainly fantastic news. Six Senses Duxton and Six Senses Maxwell feature heavily across various categories in my 2020 Ultimate Guide to Singapore Hotels and it is wonderful to hear the hotels will continue to exist and operate, albeit under another brand.
