Mandarin Oriental, Singapore recently launched a S$328++ “Relax and Ride” stay package for two which will be available from now until 30 June 2020. The package comprises the following:
- A one night stay in a Deluxe Room
- An upgrade to an Ocean View room or Marina Bay View room (subject to availability)
- Complimentary buffet breakfast for two at Melt Café
- Welcome drinks for two
- Late check-out until 6pm (subject to availability)
- 10-minute vintage Vespa sidecar ride (once per guest per stay)
- Children aged 12 years old and below stay for free with breakfast included (one complimentary rollaway bed will be provided)
Breakfast is served at Melt Café, with a small buffet of pastries and a salad bar available alongside an a la carte menu comprising regional options such as Congee (plain, chicken, pork seafood), Vegetarian Bee Hoon, Nasi Lemak and Prawn Wonton Noodle Soup with Kurobuta Pork Char Siew as well as traditional breakfast staples such as Egg White Omelette, Avocado Egg Toast and Homemade Bircher Muesli. Guests can choose from a selection of welcome cocktails which can be enjoyed at either Italian restaurant Dolce Vita or poolside alfresco lounge BAY@5. I would go for the refreshing The Elixir (gin, calamansi, Makrut lime), the caffeine-savvy Northern Tribe (rum, coconut coffee) which straddles hot and cold temperatures to intriguing effect or the Negroni-esque Nomadic Forager (vermouth, coffee, bitter).
The sidecar ride was an exciting highlight, and a standout amidst the other more traditional activities showcased in other luxury hotel packages this period. Organised in conjunction with Singapore Sidecars, the experience involves your driver bringing you on a ten-minute Tokyo Mario Kart-esque windy cruise around the civic district area in a beautiful vintage Vespa. It was my second Singapore Sidecars ride but still felt as fresh and magical as my virgin experience.
You can make your reservation for the Relax and Ride stay package by contacting the hotel at +65 6885 3517 or [email protected].
