To commemorate World Sleep Day 2025 on 14 March 2025, Oasia by Far East Hospitality launched a series of sleep-focused experiences in partnership with local mattress folks Woosa Sleep across different Oasia suites and apartments in Singapore and Malaysia, including Oasia Hotel Downtown, Oasia Hotel Novena, Oasia Resort Sentosa, Oasia Residence Singapore and Oasia Suites Kuala Lumpur.

Each “Oasia x Woosa Exclusive” stay package includes:

  • premium Woosa fittings such as a Woosa Original Plush Mattress with Premium Sonocore® Latex and European-made memory foams featuring a custom-made cover with Silver Microtencel®, tailored exclusively for Oasia; the Woosa Adjustable Base with customised settings such as Zero Gravity, Anti-Snore, and TV Positions; a curated pillow menu that includes Talalay® Latex and Dunlop Latex Specialty Foam Pillows; and a custom silk duvet made from 100% Grade 6A Silk;
  • silky 100% Natural Bamboo Bathrobes for use during your stay;
  • an Oasia x Woosa Essential Sleep Kit comprising a luxurious silk eye mask, earplugs and a Woosa Midnight Rain essential oil roller for guests to use and also take home; and
  • a soothing nightcap option of either creamy hot cocoa or a caffeine-free tea.

In March 2025, I tried the Oasia x Woosa Exclusive stay package at Oasia Hotel Novena, comprising two (2) nights in a special Suite with the above-mentioned Woosa benefits as well as access to The Living Room club lounge on the 22nd level – all for S$1,000 nett.

For the uninitiated, Oasia is a wellness-based brand under Far East Hospitality which was launched in 2011. Other Far East Hospitality hotels in Singapore include The Outpost Hotel and The Barracks Hotel Sentosa.

OASIA HOTEL NOVENA

Designed by Japanese interior design firm Super Potato (Rosewood Guangzhou, Hyatt Regency Bangkok Sukhumvit, Park Hyatt Seoul) together with local architectural firm Ong & Ong (Artyzen Singapore), the 428-room hotel plays it all high ceilings, stone textures and wood surfaces. The hotel directly connects to Novena MRT Station via a basement linkway, and adjacent malls Velocity @ Novena Square and Square 2 are easily accessible for F&B experiences and other amenities.

Breakfast is a free-seating, buffet-style affair at ground floor restaurant The Marmalade Pantry, and you can expect dishes such as Corn Pau, Kaya Pau, Fried Kway Teow, Bacon, Stir-Fried Vegetables, Sauteed Mushrooms and Hash Browns. Wellness amenities are located on the 8th level and consist of a 20m swimming pool and jacuzzi, steam room and sauna as well as a cosy 24hr fitness centre. The hotel offers a schedule of wellness activities throughout the week, including Sound Bowl Therapy, Zumba and Morning Yoga classes.

Club and Suite guests enjoy access to The Living Room, the lounge on the 22nd level with its own private sheltered outdoor swimming pool and jacuzzi. Breakfast was a buffet offering with options such as Steamed Chicken with Black Bean Sauce, Fried Smashed Potatoes, Ham and Cheese Frittata, Pork Sausage and Fried Kway Teow (which was considerably enlivened by a savoury, tasty sambal chilli), while evening cocktails and canapes comprised dishes such as Cheese Platter, Cheesy Baked Tomato Rice, Tuna Mayo and Cucumber Sandwich, Balsamic Marinated Roasted Vegetables and Chocolate Cake, with a selection of wines and spirits as well as the cocktail of the day, which for my stay was a Tequila Sunrise (tequila, grenadine, orange juice, lemon juice).

On selected days, guests can also sign up for complimentary poolside back, head & shoulder as well as foot massages, with one available slot every 15 minutes during evening cocktail service. I managed to snag the 7.45pm slot for a foot massage, and the male therapist did bore to the core of my sole (how poetic did that sound?).

OASIA X WOOSA SLEEP SUITE

Offering an abundance of natural light and stellar views of the cityscape through floor-to-ceiling windows, the 50sqm Oasia x Woosa Sleep Suite King boasts a sizeable living room with dining table, pantry and sofa seating. The bathroom has double vanities, a rainfall shower, a window-side gargantuan stone bathtub as well as scented bath amenities courtesy of Australian plant-powered beauty brand Biology. Automatic day and night curtains afford you much-needed modesty given the hotel’s proximity to adjacent apartment blocks with balconies as well as office buildings.

The beautiful bedroom offers a work station, orange-warm ceiling alcove lighting, L-shaped glass windows as well as the crown jewel of the suite: the impressive Woosa Original Plush Mattress with Adjustable Base, which can be customised to Anti-Snore, TV Positions and Zero Gravity settings. Aside from the preset positions, the Woosa bed also offers manual back and leg adjustability as well as back and leg massage functionalities with customisable vibration frequency (at max power, these feel like baby earthquakes).

During my stay, I spent a lot of time on the Woosa bed, half of which was spent switching modes, feeling the bed shift underneath me and pretending I’m a weightless astronaut or a lead in a futuristic sci-fi movie. It has to be said that sleeping in the alternative incline offered by the Zero Gravity setting – said to offer “a floating sensation that alleviates pressure points and promotes faster and easier sleep” – was a pretty exotic and novel experience, although attempts to sleep on my side felt very strange indeed. Elsewhere, silky luxurious comfort was the sensation of the day, with the Woosa bathrobe, eye mask from the Essential Sleep Kit and duvet all making me want to take eighty winks instead of the usual forty.
