Why you should | The hotel’s rooms – even the entry category one that I booked – are generally very spacious by Japanese standards. All rooms offer a jacuzzi bathtub, which can be a heaven send after a long day of city walking, especially during winter.
Also, guests with access to the hotel’s Executive Lounge have the option of visiting other (non-Marriott Bonvoy) lounges at adjacent sister hotels Grand Prince Hotel Takanawa and Grand Prince Hotel Shin Takanawa. Of the three club lounges, the Japanese-style Club Lounge HANAMIYABI at Grand Prince Hotel Takanawa was my favourite, offering Japanese dishes such as grilled chicken, eggplant, shishamo, yuzu kosho pepper crackers and unlimited access to bottles of Mio sparkling sake in a spacious lounge with tall windows. The Club Lounge at Grand Prince Hotel Shin Takanawa adopts a more Asian approach to its club offerings, with seating across multiple connected rooms. In comparison, the Executive Lounge at The Prince Sakura Tower Tokyo, Autograph Collection was the most modest in both space and food offerings. |
Why you shouldn’t | Marriott Bonvoy members with breakfast privileges can only enjoy breakfast at the hotel’s executive lounge but not the restaurant. |
