World of Hyatt has launched their latest “Bonus Journeys” promotion for members who stay at Hyatt hotels and resorts worldwide as well as participating Small Luxury Hotels of the World hotels, M life Rewards destinations and Lindblad Expeditions between 1 October 2020 and 4 January 2021. All World of Hyatt members who register for the promotion before 30 November 2020 will earn 3X bonus points for every qualifying stay during the promotion period, up to a maximum of 150,000 bonus points.
If you booked any Hyatt stays prior to registration, these stays will still qualify for the Bonus Journeys promotion as long as you register before you check-out of your first stay. The number of 3X points is calculated from base points accrued, and members earn five base points per dollar spent, which basically adds up to about an extra 10 points earned per dollar. World of Hyatt elite members receive further bonuses — Discoverists earn an extra 0.5 points per dollar, Explorists earn an extra 1.0 points per dollar, and Globalists earn an extra 1.5 points per dollar.
In addition, Hyatt and World of Hyatt credit cardmembers can earn 4X bonus points for every qualifying resort stay, with an additional maximum 75,000 bonus points under such enhanced bonus points earning, meaning the applicable total maximum accrual for cardmembers is 225,000 bonus points. Of course, this may not be too relevant to us in the Asia-Pacific region.
However, the most intriguing aspect of the Bonus Journeys promotion is that every elite night earned during the Bonus Journeys promotional period will also earn you one elite night towards status in 2021. This means that if you stay three times from October to December 2020, you will be deemed to have clocked three nights in 2020 and also 3 nights stayed in 2021, which gives you a good head-start for status next year. What is amazing is that these nights will also count towards your annual Milestone Awards (e.g. 20 nights accrued each year get you 2 Club Lounge Access awards).
