Miso black cod from The Royal Mail Restaurant & Bar. The wonderfully buttery cod masterfully navigated that laser-thin line between solid and liquid matter, but the leek fondue constantly threatened to steal focus with its pungent veggie agenda. Elsewhere, the teeth-infatuated sesame tuile was drafted in for some fragrant Oriental mystique, but since natural instinct would steer one towards getting it out of the way before starting on the cod proper, the tuile’s presence was quickly forgotten…apart from the odd reminder from random seeds the tuile scattered around frantically before being vanquished. 3.9/5
